Construction & Engineering

Excavator at a construction site

Multiple contracting approaches are in use in the construction and engineering fields, and Shawn Conway has worked with all of them – from routine work contracts to complex agreements involving technology licensing. His clients have included project owners, engineering firms, contractors, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and public entities. His experience extends from project conception to close-out and, when issues linger, dispute resolution.

A sampling of Mr. Conway’s experience in construction and engineering:

  • Saudi Arabia: Counsel in an International Chamber of Commerce arbitration between a supplier and contractor at a chemical manufacturing facility.
  • The Netherlands: Drafted and negotiated technology licenses and other agreements for a refinery expansion in Rotterdam.
  • Qatar: Counsel in an International Chamber of Commerce arbitration involving a dredging company working at the emirate’s liquid natural gas production complex.
  • Canada: Represented a contractor against a mining company in the construction of a new hydrometallurgical processing facility.
